Students from England Successfully Create Underwater Robot from Recycled Materials

Written By Unknown on Monday, December 24, 2012 | 7:35 AM

A bunch of students from the University of West England managed to build a robot from recycled materials. The robot has a function to detect the presence of mines located under the sea. The students were using the former as a variety of home appliances, car spare parts, internet routers camera taken from the PlayStation 3, computer fan for the light from a mobile Land Rover.

Include the robot they were in international competition Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV), which takes place this week in Italy. Gareth Griffith who was the leader of a team of robots is to say that the hardest part of the construction of the robot is to make the robot able to survive in a dangerous environment. In addition, robots also have to have resistance to the pressure under the sea and also has a light weight.

If all goes well, a robot built from recycled materials has capabilities comparable to the actual mine detection robot. Besides being used to detect mines, AUV robot can also be used to inspect drilling for oil or other matters.
